Carlos Slim, telecommunications tycoon from Mexico, topped the March 2, 2012 Bloomberg Billionaires Index as the richest person in the world. Coming in at number two was Bill Gates and William Buffet landed at number three. Everyday at 5:30 PM in New York, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index lists the 20 wealthiest people in the world. For the past two years, Carlos Slim topped Forbes list of the wealthiest people on the globe.
